About LUMIGAN: Glaucoma Medication

In order for your eye drops to be effective, it's not only important to take them as directed by your physician but also to make sure you instill the drops properly. Use this 4-step process to instill your drops correctly and prevent the medication from getting onto your eyelids or fingers.

  1. Wash your hands. Tilt your head back and look at the ceiling*.

  2. Using your index finger, gently pull down your lower eyelid to form a pocket. It is important to get the medicine into the pocket, not on your eyelid.

  3. Gently squeeze 1 drop into the pocket. Do not let the bottle tip touch your eye, your fingers, or any other surface.

  4. Gently close your eyes and lightly press on the inside corners of your eyes. Then carefully blot away any excess liquid that may be on your skin.

* If you wear contacts, remove them before putting in your LUMIGAN drops. Wait 15 minutes after using LUMIGAN ophthalmic solution before you put your contacts back in.

HINTS

  1. If you use more than one type of eye drop, always wait 5-10 minutes between putting in each drop.

  2. Sometimes eye drops can cause a few moments of blurry vision-be sure to wait until it clears before doing activities such as driving.
