About LUMIGAN: Glaucoma Medication
1: What is LUMIGAN?

LUMIGAN ophthalmic solution is a medicated eye drop that's proven to lower elevated IOP. The only treatable risk factor for glaucoma is elevated IOP. The best way to manage glaucoma is to lower your IOP and follow your eye doctor's instructions.

2: Will LUMIGAN cure my glaucoma?

Though there is no cure for glaucoma, reducing IOP is the best way to manage glaucoma and prevent vision loss. It is important to lower your IOP because up to 40% of your optic nerve may be damaged before you notice any difference in your vision. That's why early detection and ongoing treatment are so vital.

3: Why LUMIGAN therapy?

The most common treatment to reduce elevated IOP is medicated eye drops. Your doctor prescribed once-daily LUMIGAN ophthalmic solution, an FDA-approved medication proven to lower IOP in newly diagnosed or already treated patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

4: How do I use LUMIGAN?

LUMIGAN eye drops are used once a day. Visit Taking LUMIGAN Eye Drops for instructions on how to put LUMIGAN ophthalmic solution in your eyes.

5: What are the most common side effects of LUMIGAN?

With LUMIGAN ophthalmic solution, side effects are usually tolerable. You may experience increased eyelash growth, itchy eyes, or temporary eye redness (hyperemia). Eye redness can occur immediately after use but usually lasts only a few weeks. Your eyes may get red but typically won't hurt or itch. (Call your doctor if they do.) In clinical studies, approximately 3% of patients taking LUMIGAN stopped taking LUMIGAN due to eye redness.

Eye redness alone doesn't mean that your eyes are being harmed. It is important to follow your doctor's instructions and continue to take LUMIGAN ophthalmic solution so you get the long-term benefits of lower IOP.
